Elizabeth Arden Standing Ovation Mascara

Well, this is named for every red carpet event everywhere in the whole world! That’s a really clever name and there’s a lot that the brand can do with it, marketing wise. Although I’m not a fan of a fat brush these days, this falls into the ‘small fat’ brush – it’s not so big that it just smears lashes with product; you can actually get it right to the roots and pull through.

I’m not sure there’s anything technically clever about the brush – the actual formula contains fibres that gives a bigger effect and it’s designed to lift lashes. I don’t have droopy lashes so I can’t say that it’s the fix-all to downward lashes, but after I’d applied in the zig-zaggy way that helps to get plenty of product to the root, they certainly did look revived. I wore it all day yesterday and it stayed put, didn’t go crispy on my lashes and it’s fragrance free. You will need to coat more than once if you want a glamour effect – otherwise, you could easily use this at one coat as an everyday. It’s HERE for what should be £22 but is on offer (no idea why) for £15. I was also introduced to Elizabeth Arden High Drama Liner (£17) – it’s so creamy – if you like a smudgy smokey eye, I’d recommend.
