My Experience with Mentholatum Sugar Lip By Water Colour 02 Dancing Pink:
Let’s begin the review with the packaging of the product. The product comes in a regular cardboard packaging having the name and other product details printed at the back. The lip balm tube is cylindrical and glossy black in color. The brand’s tagline is printed on its side in simple small fonts. The cap of the tube shuts very securely making an audible click sound and makes it purse-friendly. The size of the lip balm tube is apt for carrying in the pocket. The shape of the lip balm bullet is slightly slanted which provides easier application. Overall, the packaging is good.
This lip balm comes in four different variants. I have got the shade “Dancing pink”. I have also reviewed LipIce Dancing Pink Water Color, which was a shimmery pink lip balm. This new range called Sugar lip also has the shade Dancing Pink, which I am going to review today. But, this shade is a non-shimmery baby pink lip balm. It has a soft glossy sheen in it, which gives a healthy appearance to the lips. The color is quite pale and not suitable for deeper complexions, as it will surely wash them out. It is only apt for fairer skin tones. It also looks pale on my skin tone if it is layered on a bit. Also, the pigmentation is really low and pink color mixes with the natural color of the lips and gives a look of a clear lip balm. The lip balm has a very mild sweet fragrance.
The texture of the lip balm is great. It is very super smooth and creamy. It glides on the lips like a dream. The formula is non-sticky and feels comfortable on the lips. I would not say that the formulation is lightweight. It has a thick texture but does not give a waxy feel. It is very nourishing. It softens the dry lips and smoothens them. It is very moisturizing and hydrating. My lips stay hydrated for pretty long after applying this lip balm. It helps to heal dry and cracked lips. It starts to eliminate flaky skin with the very first use.
The lasting power of the lip balm is somewhere around 2-3 hours on my lips but the hydration provided stays much longer. Hence, it does not require frequent reapplication. Overall, it completely fulfills all the expectations that I have from a lip balm. And, this is my most favorite brand of lip balms and I keep coming back to these even when I discover newer products and brands.
