I’ve had these hanging around for a while because the words ‘shaping sticks’ put me off – literally cannot be bothered with shaping as such. However, over the past week or so I’ve been putting them to the test in ways that suit me – as blush, highlight and bronzer – rather than aiming for the full Kardashian. You know what they remind me of? The blush version – Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Blush, and the foundation MAC Matchmaster Concealer sticks. L’Oreal’s sticks come in three versions – blush (2), foundation (12) and Strobe/Highlight (4). One of the great things about stick foundations is that if buy a warmer shade than you need you can easily use as a bronzing stick which is what I did all last summer with Matchmaster. I’ve got a warm toned beige in the foundation here and use it as a warming blush/bronze, but if I’m honest it’s the blush sticks that I’ve used the most. I just like these for their adaptability – they are what you make them.
I’ve swatched up the shades that I have here starting at the bottom: Sexy Flush (pale pink blush), Gold Is Cold (highlight), Espresso (foundation), Honey (foundation – that I’m using as a warm bronze), Oh My Jewels (highlight), Nude In Rose (blush, and shimmering peach rather than rose) and Frozen (highlight with blue tint). They’re on a 3 for 2 at Boots at the moment (HERE) or otherwise £8.99 each. I’ve not used the foundation for its intended purpose so can’t review on that, but the blush lasted so well, was perfectly blendable as was the highlighter when I tried them. They’re not too shiny so if you like a subtle effect, these are perfect for a low key strobe effect. I’d definitely recommend the blushes if you like a creme blush with last.
