Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter

Designed to give a dewy sheen to the skin, Charlotte Tilbury’s Hollywood Flawless Filter is, I guess, a glow top-coat either for bare skin or over foundation. It’s a tricky one because while I think it’s going to be a little too lustred for many because it’s supposed to be used all over the face, it definitely does give a sheen. I feel that it’s maybe its so far at the tail end of the hyper glow trend that it’s just looking a little too obvious for my liking – a bit metalized on a nude complexion rather than light hit. It’s more at home over foundation but I’m still not sure I’d wear it all over. Maybe if you are, like it’s namesake, after a full blown Hollywood look (whatever that is nowadays) or Insta face then it will fulfill your expectations. I used a brush to blend it so got a proper diffusion and yet didn’t feel it was subtle enough. I also think a wand applicator for all over is weird – you’d be better tapping it out of the bottle into the palm of your hand and picking up with a brush or sponge to blend.

Charlotte Tilbury Opium Noir

On the other hand, Opium Noir sees a welcome return. Released a while back as a limited edition, this vampy raspberry hit burgundy is a stunning colour – deep, winey and lifted just enough with pink that you don’t go too Adams Family.

Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter

It’s in the Matte Revolution formula so it’s creamy without being drying – don’t forget to do a finger pop though, this shade is not one you want on your teeth! Flawless Filter is £30 and Opium Noir (on-line only) is £24 HERE.
