Skin Tone: Light to Medium with warm undertones
Skin Type: Combination
ColourPop recently released the matte version for their famous lux lipsticks. Lux lipsticks are supposed to have a luxurious, comfortable, matte formula with line blurring technology and a beautiful rose gold metal packaging. I have purchased the shade “Check Please,” “Paparazzi” and “Mind Trick” to test this new matte version of Lux lipsticks. In this post, I am reviewing “Mind Trick.”
$7.00 USD for 0.12 oz.
Lux it up. Loaded with antioxidant rich extracts, this velvet matte, long wearing lipstick glides on the lips for intense pigmentation and a soft blurring finish in shades made for every skin tone. This brick red will have you Luke Skywalkin’ on these haters. This full coverage matte lipstick is packed full of the finest pigments to give you long wearing, true colour in all the shades. The velvet matte finish is comfortable and non-drying, while soft blurring pigments lessen the look of fine lines. Enriched with Pomegranate, Goji Fruit, and Green Seed extracts to protect your lips from environmental stressors and premature ageing.
My Experience with ColourPop Lux Lipstick Mind Trick:
Packaging: The packaging of the ColourPop Lux lipstick is luxurious. The lipstick comes in a beautiful metal rose gold packaging with little gold stars all over it. The lipstick tube has a little weight to it. The bottom of the tube mentions the shade name “Mind Trick.” My previous lux lipsticks had colour coordinated stickers which helped me to identify the lipstick shade when I stored the lipsticks on my vanity. However, this lipstick didn’t come with any colour-coordinated sticker which is a major bummer. The lipstick comes in a white cardboard outer packaging with the ingredients list mentioned. The bullet of the lipstick also has stars embossed on it. Overall, the packaging is very luxurious, sturdy and travel friendly.
Shade and Finish: “Mind Trick” is described as a “brick red” color and it is a very beautiful reddish-brown shade. This color is a perfect fall shade. This shade will suit all skin tones. Mind trick is very comfortable to wear. The finish is very matte and the lipstick glides on the lips easily. There is no tugging or pulling.
Texture and Application: The texture of this lipstick is matte. The texture is very similar to their matte x version of lippie stix. The lipstick has got intense pigmentation. The lipstick feels very lightweight on the lips. It is infused with grape seed, jojoba and pomegranate seed butters. It gives a lot of nourishment to my dry lips. The lipstick is very easy to apply. I used a lip liner and then fill in the lipstick with the help of a lip brush. The lipstick claims to have soft blurring technology, however, I do not feel that it blurs out the lines on my lips. It gives a plump and fuller look to my lips. The lipstick has a faint vanilla scent to it, which is not overpowering.
Pigmentation and Coverage: The lipstick is super pigmented and the lipstick glides on smoothly. My lips are fully covered in one to two swipes.
Staying Power: The staying power is really good with lipstick. It stays on my lips for around 4 to 5 hours. However, it will start to fade easily if you eat meals or drink water.
Overall, I am really happy with this lipstick. The lipstick can be easily removed with a makeup remover.
