My Experience with Makeup Revolution I Heart Makeup I Heart Mint Chocolate Palette:
This eyeshadow comes packed in a fluorescent light-green coloured cardboard packaging which has a transparent plastic covering that allows you to see the palette from outside. This eyeshadow palette comes in a rectangular black coloured container and has a total of 16 square-shaped eyeshadow pans which has a mix of shimmer, foiled and matte shades in it. On the front face of the palette, shapes of fluorescent light-green chocolate bars give it a 3D luxurious look. The packaging is quite sleek and I could give 5/5 just for the attractive packaging. The flip cover shuts tight in its place.
The palette looks very attractive from the outside and is travel-friendly as well. All the ingredient details and the shade names are written on the back face of the black container in white font. It also comes with its own dual-ended applicator brush that can be used during application. Overall, I am happy with its packaging.
Shades and Pigmentation:
For those of you who have already seen this palette online, you must have already known by now that this is an incredibly gorgeous and affordable palette which contains a mix of different shades of greens, browns, nudes, burgundies and golden shades – all very eye-catching and are a steal deal at this price value. There are a few neutral shades as well. It looks like a good autumnal collection of shades which is perfect to wear during the fall season of the year.
You get a total of 15 shades in this palette – some are matte and some are shimmery, which makes it a further more amazing purchase. The colour selection is so versatile and a lot of thought has been put into creating this palette. The colour combination will overflow you with ideas of creating different types of looks. This is one of those palettes that it will be fun to experiment with and there are some unique shades that further complement each other and have a high impact on the eyes.
This palette is really a very useful one because it has such a nice choice of warm, nude as well as a handful of pop colours in it which will help to get done with the entire eye look. Indian beauties will find this palette really amazing because of the warm tones colours that it has to offer even if they would occasionally want to skip the pop colours. Okay, enough of my blabbering!! Let’s get to the individual shade details now.
Top Row (L to R):
Sugarcoated – This shade is a very dirty golden shade which has a fine shimmer finish. It is slightly powdery and has little fallout. It has okay type pigmentation and I expected it to be better. This can be used on lid area and also as a brow highlight.
Engaged – It is a very pale brown colour which is shimmery in nature. It has no fallout. It has good pigmentation but needs 2-3 swipes for maximum payoff.
Tea – This is a cream colour with little fallout. The texture is smooth but it has poor pigmentation. It needs multiple swipes to be visible properly.
Lust – The 4th shade is cocoa brown colour with a hint of sab green undertones to it and it is a shimmer shade. It has rich pigmentation and no fallout.
Poison Ivy – This shade looks like the rich forest-green colour and it is matte in nature. It has no fallout and has good pigmentation. It is great for creating evening looks. This is my favourite shade from the entire matte colour range and it goes with the green theme of this palette well.
Middle Row (L to R):
Secret – This is a medium reddish brown colour with a matte finish which can be used as a base colour. It appears quite powdery and needs multiple swipes. Poor pigmentation and appears chalky.
Worlds Apart – This is light burgundy colour with a mix of brown to it. It appears matte and has good pigmentation. Can be used on the crease area. It has little fallout but it looks gorgeous post application.
Distorted – This shade is rich copper brown colour. It is a great glittery shade and has a creamy texture. It is pigment packed and needs just one swipe for maximum payoff. I love this shade a lot.
Rivals – It is a dark emerald green shade which has a shimmer finish. It has no fallout and is highly pigmented. It can be used for party looks. This is another favourite shade from this palette as it contains flecks of gold too in it. But it is less creamy than the shade ‘Distorted’.
Interupted – This is very pale yellow-ochre shade which has a matte finish. It needs multiple swipes to show up clearly. This shade is powdery and has fallout problem. I’ve used this as a transition shade in the crease or as a base for other shadows.
Compromise – This is a chestnut brown shade which is shimmery by nature. It has excellent pigmentation. It has no fallout.
Bottom Row (L to R):
Awaken – This is a matte dark brown shade. It has little fallout but it has good pigmentation. The application is smooth and effortless. It can be used on the outer corner to add an extra dimension to your look.
Disturbance – It is a bright yellow-based golden shade with a glittery finish. It can be used as a highlighter or used on inner corners of the eye. It has decent pigmentation and has no fallout.
Commotion –This is another teal green based shimmer shade which has a gorgeous finish. It has superb pigmentation and is the best shade in this palette. This colour has no fallout and texture is very creamy.
High Standards – It is a light nude shade which has a shimmer finish. It is quite great to create neutral looks. Has decent pigmentation and no fallout.
Confession – This is the last shade in the palette. It is a matte off-white nude shade. It is poorly pigmented and needs 1-2 swipes to show up clearly. Can be used as a base colour.
I feel that some of the matte shades appear quite powdery and have fallout problem but the shimmer shades are the real punch of this palette. They have good performance compared to matte shades. Since this palette also comes in a number of lighter shades, it can be used as a daily makeup routine. It is also a perfect companion for festive and party looks.
The colours are really unique and show up on the eyes well. Pigmentation is great for most of the shades. They give a beautiful colour-payoff and go with most of the outfits. You can also easily layer up the shadows to make them look bolder. But overall, I would say, that the pigmentation could have been better for a few shades. But, the palette is incredibly gorgeous and I love it.
Texture and Finish:
All the shades have a soft texture that blends beautifully on the eyes. These shades have a smooth formulation and remind me a lot about the high-end brand palettes. It looks like a very close dupe of ‘ABH Subculture Palette’ in the first glance. The shimmer shades are decent but don’t expect insane pigmentation from this palette. The shades have to be built up but if you don’t like insanely pigmented shadows but still looking for something fancy, this could be your take.
The shimmer shades are more buttery in comparison to the matte shades. They have little fallout but it is not much considerable. The applicator brush provided along with this palette is not very useful for Eyeshadow application, so I don’t use it. I don’t know why makeup revolution has not come with a good brush with this palette considering the price that has to be paid.
I usually use an eyeshadow brush during application, but you can also apply it using your fingers. Especially for the shimmery shades, finger application is more useful. The shades don’t feel patchy and ensure a smooth finish post application. While applying the shimmery shades, if you use a wet brush, the colour intensity will be more beautiful and they will give a stunning look on the eyes. I mix and match different colours to create different looks.
For the matte shades, the formula is great and easy to blend. However, if you blend them excessively, the colour intensity reduces and you would end up using more product. They do fallout a bit but it is easy to dust them off. So, I don’t mind much. I really loved the way this palette fared for me. Overall, I really love the blend of colours and their amazing finish.
These shades stay in place for a decent amount of time without any creasing. The shimmer shades stay for a much longer period. They last for about 7-8 hours, which I think is good at this price value. If you have oily lids, you will definitely need a primer prior to application; otherwise, the intensity will gradually fade away. These shades are easy to remove as well. They come off easily with any makeup remover.
This is the addition of another awe-strikingly beautiful palette to my eyeshadow collection. I am a sucker for good eyeshadows and this one is special to me because of the cute packaging it holds. The colour theme is also amazing and will be a good option for those who love to create green-themed looks. The quality is really nice and I loved it. I do recommend this palette to readers.
