e.l.f. Products You Need To Know

We’ve really got all of the options when it comes to cosmetics – high end, mid-price or budget and it seems so much more of a level playing field for make-up lovers. Choice is the best new thing to happen in beauty world but I bet you didn’t know that e.l.f. has been around since 2004, providing affordable and great quality beauty products for 14 years. The good news is that it just got much more available in the UK, launching an extensive product range into Boots. It seems like the perfect time to show you my top picks from a brand I’ve known since the very beginning.

e.l.f. Lip Oils, £7.50

If you like silky feeling sheen on your lips, these oils are an easy win. They’re not, in fact, oily as such, but weightless, sheer colours that condition the lips as you wear them. With this kind of texture, you won’t get any tacky feel, just a smooth, light emollient sensation. I’ve been wearing Coral Kiss on and off all summer – it’s a joyful, milky peach shade that I love.

e.l.f. Dewy Setting Mist, £9

If you’re a matte person, this isn’t for you, but I love to have a dewy skin finish. On my complexion I get some subtle vitality and radiance with a light skin gleam and a blast of one of my favourite fragrances – coconut. It’s a beautiful skin finisher behaving like a much more expensive version of this very thing.

e.l.f. Antioxidant Booster Drops, £10.

If you’re still wondering whether you need boosters, this might be the product to convince you that it doesn’t have to cost a fortune to add in some extra nourishment. These drops are infused with niacinamide (B3), known for working with skin to even out tone and diminish dullness, and full of antioxidants to munch up the pollutants your skin comes into contact with on a daily basis. You can add them to your regular base, moisturiser or serum or use alone before you add anything else onto your skin. In terms of skin feel, it’s a light liquid with plenty of slip for easy application.

e.l.f. Ultra Precise Brow Pencil, £6.

I’m low maintenance brow, partly because to get a very defined, precise arch, it’s a heck of a lot of effort, and partly because I have a fringe and I can get away with being lazy! It’s the small things that I give beauty thanks for, such as the fact that this fine point brow pencil has a brush at the other end which brings the pencil strokes together to form a blended colour consistent through the brow. It’s basically the easiest way to power brow.

e.l.f. Rose Gold Eyeshadow Palette, £10.

This is very much £10 well spent if you’ve been searching for a rose gold eye shadow collection. It’s a beautiful and unexpected edit that doesn’t go too pink and offers a good selection of metallics. I love that there is a khaki shade at the mid-point which works with either end (try khaki and that moody raspberry shade third from the end) and also a vibrant copper that is every blue-eye’d person’s dream shade. The e.l.f. rose gold palette is a mix of sunset shades and autumnal nature hues – very clever.

It’s easier sometimes if you’re new to a brand to have someone else pick out their favourites but if you have any e.l.f. products that you swear by, I’d love to know about them. You can find everything HERE, and the swatches of the Lip Oils and the Rose Gold Palette are below.
