Clarified butter means that ghee is derived from butter. While ghee has similar properties to that of butter, it is not the same as butter.

Ghee is made by cooking butter until all moisture is removed and all milk solids are caramelized. Butter is heated slowly on the stove to remove all the impurities and milk solids. The result is golden purified butter.

And to my surprise, I found that ghee is much healthier than butter, for many reasons…

  6. In India and the Far East, it is used for detoxifying the body.
